Terms & Conditions. Please read these terms carefully before confirming your rental.
Local ID / Local Customer Policy
Unique Car Rental does not provide rental vehicles to customers residing locally or customers presenting a local residential ID from the service area. Customers must provide valid non-local identification and the required supporting documents at the time of booking. Rentals may be refused or cancelled if the customer does not meet these eligibility requirements.
Eligibility
- The customer must meet the applicable age and driving requirements for renting and driving a vehicle. - For self-drive rentals, the customer must hold a valid driving licence applicable to the rented vehicle. - The customer must provide valid and required documents at the time of booking or vehicle handover. - Vehicle rental is subject to verification and approval by Unique Car Rental.
Required Documents
Depending on the type of rental, customers may be required to provide valid identification, address proof, driving licence and other documents requested by Unique Car Rental. The documents provided must be genuine, valid and belong to the customer making the booking.
Booking & Payment
- A booking is confirmed only after the required advance payment or booking amount has been received. - Rental charges must be paid according to the agreed booking terms. - The vehicle will be provided only after completion of the required verification and payment formalities. - Rates may vary depending on the vehicle, rental duration, travel requirements and applicable terms.
Security Deposit
- A refundable security deposit may be applicable for self-drive rentals. - The security deposit will be refunded after the vehicle is returned and inspected. - Deductions may be made from the security deposit for applicable damages, missing items, unpaid charges, penalties or other recoverable costs. - The refund process is subject to completion of the necessary inspection and settlement of outstanding amounts.
Vehicle Handover
- The vehicle is inspected before handover. - The customer is responsible for checking the vehicle and reporting any visible damage or issue before starting the rental. - Once the vehicle is accepted, the customer is responsible for its proper use and care during the rental period. - The vehicle must be returned in the agreed condition.
Use of the Vehicle
The rented vehicle must be used responsibly and only for lawful purposes. The customer must not: - Use the vehicle for racing, speed testing or other dangerous activities. - Use the vehicle for any illegal activity. - Allow an unauthorised person to drive the vehicle. - Use the vehicle for commercial transportation or sub-renting without prior permission. - Make modifications to the vehicle. - Use the vehicle in a manner that may cause unnecessary damage or excessive wear.
Driving & Traffic Responsibilities
For self-drive rentals, the customer is responsible for safe and lawful driving throughout the rental period. All traffic violations, parking fines, toll-related penalties, e-challans and other charges arising during the customer's rental period will be the responsibility of the customer. Any applicable administrative charges for processing such penalties may also be recoverable from the customer.
Fuel Policy
- Fuel charges are the responsibility of the customer unless specifically agreed otherwise. - The vehicle should be returned according to the fuel level agreed at the time of handover. - Any applicable fuel shortage or related charges may be recovered from the customer.
Additional Kilometres
Where a rental plan includes a specified kilometre limit, additional kilometres will be charged at the applicable rate communicated at the time of booking. The applicable rate may vary depending on the vehicle and rental plan.
Damage & Loss
The customer is responsible for the vehicle during the rental period. The customer may be liable for costs arising from: - Accidental or negligent damage - Damage caused by improper use - Damage to tyres, wheels, interiors or other vehicle components - Loss of keys, documents, accessories or vehicle equipment - Damage caused by unauthorised use or driving - Recovery or towing expenses resulting from misuse or negligence The actual recovery amount will depend on the nature and extent of the loss or damage.
Prohibited Use
The vehicle must not be used: - For racing or competitive driving - For driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs - For transporting illegal or prohibited goods - For carrying passengers beyond the permitted capacity - For sub-rental or transfer to another person without approval - In any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations
Rental Extension
If the customer wishes to extend the rental period, prior approval from Unique Car Rental is required. An extension is subject to vehicle availability and payment of the applicable additional rental charges. Keeping the vehicle beyond the agreed return time without approval may result in additional charges
Early Return
If a customer returns the vehicle before the agreed rental period, the unused rental period will not automatically qualify for a refund. The security deposit, where applicable, will be processed separately after vehicle inspection and settlement of outstanding charges.
Cancellation & Refunds
Cancellation and refund eligibility depends on the booking terms applicable at the time of confirmation. Advance payments may be non-refundable in certain circumstances, particularly for late cancellations, no-shows or bookings where the vehicle has already been reserved specifically for the customer. Customers should confirm the applicable cancellation conditions before making payment.
Driver-Operated Services
For driver-operated or cab services: - The service is subject to vehicle and driver availability. - The agreed fare and travel terms should be confirmed before the journey. - Additional tolls, parking charges, permits or other applicable travel expenses may be payable separately unless included in the agreed fare. - The customer is expected to behave respectfully towards the driver and vehicle. - Changes to the route, timing or destination may result in additional charges where applicable.
Pickup & Return
The customer must collect and return the vehicle at the agreed location and time unless an alternative arrangement has been approved in advance. Late return, unauthorised location changes or additional usage may attract applicable charges.
Vehicle Availability
Vehicle availability is subject to the fleet and booking schedule at the time of confirmation. In exceptional circumstances, if the booked vehicle becomes unavailable due to an unforeseen issue, Unique Car Rental may provide a suitable alternative vehicle, subject to availability and applicable terms.
Customer Responsibility
Customers are expected to provide accurate information during booking and comply with all applicable rental requirements. Any incorrect information, misuse of the vehicle or violation of these Terms & Conditions may result in cancellation of the rental without affecting the customer's responsibility for applicable charges or losses.
Changes to Terms
Unique Car Rental reserves the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions when required. The latest version published on this website will apply to future bookings unless otherwise agreed in writing.
